A Cry in the Wilderness [1974] DVDRIP

Sam Hadley (George Kennedy) and his son Gus (Lee Montgomery) are clearing stumps one day when Sam is bitten by a rabid skunk. Fearing the worst because of a childhood incident, Sam chains himself to a support post in the barn and sends his wife Delda (Joanna Pettet) for help. But there are a couple very big problems. First of all, it's a long, rough road to town and Mrs. Hadley is a big city gal who can barely handle Sam's old truck. Worse still, the creek is rising and there's a good chance the farm is going to flood but Gus won't let his dad out of the barn because he thinks his dad has the rabies. Delda has her hands full with slack jawed yokels and hillbillies who want to gang breed her. Sam is having flashbacks to the bad ole days when the cure for rabies was even worse than the disease. And poor Gus is so confused, he doesn't know whether to scratch his watch or wind his butt.
